Wisdom Teeth Operation

Got my wisdom teeth out yesterday at around 2:30. It was quite an easy operation, I was on laughing gas (which I absolutely love) so I knew everything that was going on, but didn’t hurt one bit. I decided I wanted to keep track of the effects of the drugs, so before I took them (1 Ativan = Sedative & 4 Medrol = Anti-swelling) I timed myself on 4 tests of speed and thinking abilities, and recorded the results. I was going to retest myself afterwards, but decided not to because I was thinking fine, I just was very tired. Ativan sets in after about 30 minutes, and you become quite tired. Right now, it’s been a day since the operation, and I’m on 1 Vicodin and 3 Advil about every 4ish hours. I haven’t really felt any effects from the Vicodin like I thought I would, no superhapy feelings or anything. It is good to know that I am not really feeling any pain tho. As I write this, the only thing I’m really having troubles doing is reading. The words aren’t all making 100% sense, but I think I’m doing pretty well. O ya, I haven’t put any paragraph breaks in either. Woops!

O well, I’m going back to watching my classic movies from the 30’s and 40’s, I love them so much! Mr. Blandings Builds his Dream House, 6 classic horror movies, they’re great! Bye!

Monster for Sale

While idling away my time at school (actually trying to fix a computer for Saints) I decided to browse through the treasure troves of eBay, looking for a Canon Elan 7ne (o please o please!) and other things. After my regular searches were done, I felt like peering into the “Everything Else” category, which always contains some fascinating items!

First on the list? A monster for sale! From the item description:

The brave, lucky winner of this auction will own one monster known to dwell beneath my daughter’s bed, in her toy box, and in her closet. Said monster was apprehended by me at 3:15 a.m. on January 31, 2005. I was able to capture him in a small insulated zippered cooler as it was the handiest object able to contain such a beast. When captured, the monster was in his invisible state.

Currently, 33 minutes before this auction ends, there have been 44 bids bringing the total selling price to $1,340.28! Thirteen-hundred dollars! If you wish to own your own private monster, hurry on over and bid on this steal of a deal!

Some people!

Foray into Medium Format Photography

Yashicamat 124
Whilst digging around my photo teacher’s box of old photographic equipment, I happened across a funny looking camera. It had two lenses, odd knobs all over the place, and a large winder on one side. After exploring the camera for a little bit, I pulled at the top and voila - a large lasered screen 2″ x 2″ stood before my eyes. I had found a medium format camera!

After further inspection and inquiring my teacher (Mr. McGill, one of the coolest guys ever, fourth time I’ve taken his class :)) I found out that I had a Yashicamat 124, a medium-format camera produced in Japan in the 60’s. It shoots 120 and 240 film, includes a light meter powered by a battery that is no longer produced, and is fully manual. Exciting!

Mr. McGill was kind enough to let me take it home, and as soon as I can get to Wolf or Mikes, I will be picking myself up a roll of 120 to shoot away. Stay posted for the results.
